As a devotee of Scott Kelby’s books, I came across the World Wide Photowalk that was taking place for the second year in 2009.
I decided to sign up for the Guildford walk and on Saturday the 18th July. It was led by Glyn Dewis who turned out to be a very nice guy and also a very good organiser. Twenty-Five of us had a brilliant time walking around Guildford High Street, the castle and the river. You can see the results of our efforts on www.worldwidephotowalk.com/guildford–surrey-en-uk/
The main reason that I mention this is that many people would be quite intimidated about setting up to do serious photography on a busy high street in July but with the group it didn’t seem to matter. We also got to compare notes in the pub afterwards and have agreed to do it again before too long.
I am now a fan of arranging groups to take photographs. Please remind me to tell you about my photographic club’s treasure hunt in the near future.
